  1. We haven’t had any DVD Shrink updates in awhile (over a month), I guess Dr Shrink has finally stopped working on the program???? With out a doubt one of the best programs ever!!! I guess I’ll have to look for some other program that’s worth running home and updating every time an update became available, besides DVDDecrypter.

It looks like this is the end of the road for DVDShrink. Nevertheless,
DVDShrink and DVDDecrypter are the best freeware programs I've ever used.
All who use it owe a BIG thanks to the authors' generosity.

  3. Why do you need an update? The latest version of DVD shrink is perfectly working software, and it does exactly what it is designed for. I usually stop checking for updates once I have software (or firmware) running with no problems. Sometimes future updates are useful for people who experience problems with current version, but cause problems for others who never had problems before.

you might want to do an A/B comparision between 3.17 and 3.0beta5...the latter gives almost perfect results while the former occasionally produces pixelation and other undesireable side-effects (but does have more features than beta5). Many many members have posted similar results. just a FYI.

  5. I don’t really need an update, but if you recall Dr Shrink did add the DVDDecrypter ISO option as one of the so-called “fixes” and what a great fix it was!!!

  6. Only V3 beta 5 works for me with the features I need, so don't need anymore updates, plus the guy who wrote it said there wouldn't be any new versions anyway.

There is another free program does pretty much the same thing, DVD43.

OK............how does DVD43 do the same thing as DVD Shrink It may do the same thing as Anydvd but not DVD Shrink

DVD43 is a small, free tool that integrates into Windows (2000/XP only) and overrides DVD-Video copy-protection and region limitations. Requires Patin-Couffin access layer(free).

  8. Too bad about the updates.

I would like to try this comparison between 3.17 and 3.0beta5 for myself. Can 3.0b5 still be obtained via download somewhere?

    Regards.

Personally I like v3.1.5,v3.0b5 has a problem with subtitles.

  11. Thanks for the link MOVIEGEEK,

I'm running 3.15 now, like it just fine. Will probably compare between it and 3.0b5 instead of installing 3.17.

    Regards.
