  1. I tried dvddecryptor and it made them into .VOB files again. I need to make them mpeg or avi so I can edit them with software.

    Most of the time simply renaming them to .mpg does the trick.

    Use VobEdit and demux. Just renaming makes for problems.

    I would have to agree that using VOBEdit is the best first step in working with your VOBs. Demux them first, that way you can remove any subtitle and additional audio streams. Once demultiplexed, you can then do as you wish with the elementary streams.
