  1. DVDs I burn with DVDMF 2 get progressivly out of sync so that after 90 minutes the audio is out by around a second or more - effectively unwatchable. The original MPEG files are perfectly in sync when played back in Hauppauge's WinTV2000.

I'm capturing MPEG2 video files with a Hauppauge WinPVR 350. This card has a hardware MPEG2 encoder and the files are of very good audio and video quality. I usually use DVD Long Play (VBR 6200 kbps) or Extra Long Play (VBR 4400 kbps) settings for capture.

I'm either trimming the WinPVR files with the included NanoPeg 2.3 editor or burning them untrimmed in DVDMF 2. So no re-encoding is involved in DVDMF.

My burner is an LG GSA-4040B and I'm using 4x DVD-R disks. The disks are 'Closed' at the end of the DVDMF session. I'm using the standard PAL settings.

In case Jerry Jones reads this - I've read your tutorial, I don't think my originals have dropped frames, and I've followed Uleads instructions on making my project settings compliant.

I hope someone can help. I find the whole process very frustrating. Incidentally can anyone suggest an entry level authoring program that doesn't have any audio sync issues. I've seen quite a few problems in relations to Ulead's DVDMF here.

    Thanks,

    Robert.

  2. you sure the original file si perfect ? cause, usually capturing gives that sync problems.
I use the program, but I capture as avi, then encode it, and it's perfect. Try not to capture more than 20 min once, an after combine the files.
If does not work, use VideoStudio7.

  3. I'm not sure, and don't know how I can be sure. But I have no reason to believe frames would be dropped during capture. My machine and disks are up to the job. And the recorded MPG files plays back perfectly in sync in the Hauppauge WinTV2000 player.

I just need a basic authoring program that will allow me to archive TV programmes with basic menus/chapters and in sync. Is there one out there?
