  1. I am wanting to figure out how to convert a file saved in nero digital back to a mpeg-2 so I can write it to DVD?

I know you can do this for other formats, like xVID, divx, etc.
But I can't figure out how to do it with nero digital.
I'd like to store a lot of file in nero digital but be able to convert that format to dvd to be played in a normal player.

Any advice on how to do this? Or should I just use divx to store them or xvid?

    thx

My advice is use Nero Digital only when you don't plan on watching your backup on anything other than your PC. If you have the DVD that you were able to convert to ND, just backup the DVD to DVD-R. If you no longer have the DVD and you absolutely must convert the mp4 files to DVD, don't expect the quality to be good.

You can convert the mp4 to mpeg with TMPGEnc, the TMPGEnc MOV Plugin and a current installation of Quicktime(version 6 or greater). Once you have everything installed TMPGEnc should be able to open the mp4 files, you just have to move the "files of type" slider to "all files". Use a resolution of 352x480(352x576 for PAL). If you use 720x480/576 the picture will probably suffer from heavy pixelization.
