Hoping someone has some insight to this. I recently replaced a nvidia mx400 video card with an ati 9600xt (gigabyte brand) video card. Other than that, I think the rest of the hardware/software is all the same. Since then virtualvcr (and amcap does this too) crashes after about 10 minutes. No error message, just the generic windows XP "your program died blah blah tell microsoft blah blah" message. I've eliminated the simple stuff (screen savers, monitor power-off, refresh rate is 60hz, hard drive is defragged, no other apps running). VFW-based capture programs like virtual-dub and ati mmc capture program don't seem to have this problem but virtualvcr is way the best.

This happens with stock ATI drivers and with the latest sourceforge btwincap drivers. Motherboard is MSI Nvidia-2 based, amd 2800XP cpu, SB Audigy sound card latest drivers and windows updates for everything including directx9. Hard drive is not the one with windows installed on it and it's dma-6 and plenty fast per sandra tests. It happens regardless of the video compression codec and it happens with uncompressed. video Happens with YUY2 and RGB. Happens with or without 'quit on stop' selected.

Any guesses are greatly appreciated but the easy stuff is already accounted for as described above.
