Every converter talks about sandwitching a Dolby Surround into one audio file. I'd like to rip a DVD, but keep the separate Surround Sound tracks as individual tracks/mp3s/wavs.
It's surprisingly hard to come across this information. Am I missing something obvious, or do most programs simply don't do this?
thanks :)

You'll need to rip the entire DVD to your hard drive with something like DVD Decrypter, then load your VOB's into DVD2AVI and make sure "demux all tracks" is selected. Save your project and that should do it for you. Assuming your DVD has ac3 audio you'll have to use another program to convert to wav or mp3, though I believe DVD2AVI can output to wav as well.
