Depends how old you are, I believe you don't really need any qualifications if you apply under the mature age entry scheme.
It's not a certainty that you get citizenship after you do the course but in a recent report it showed that approx 95% of international students who applied for citizenship were successful in their application.

Judicious use of spicy language can be a powerful tool as long as it doesn't start replacing other words in your vocabulary. What is the line "excessive cursing is the crutch for the lazy mind" or something like that. Too much defeats the purpose.
I was on another DVD board and I described one card as "a damn nice card". It was censored to "a %#&@ nice card". I mentioned it to the admin and he changed the policy.
This board has the right level of tolerance, IMHO. We can speak our minds as long as we don't go overboard. Bravo Baldrick

That's probably easier than completing a degree then.
It's a good life for the most part down here despite a few minor qualms I have. If you are interested more drop me a PM and I should be able to answer your questions.

Close enough, I'm a Quantity Surveyor in Construction (rather than Engineering), my wife also has a degree but in some bloody Biology thing.
Thanks for the heads-up, something for the future perhaps.

I think one or two forum members already know my feelings on this subject, at least to a certain extent. But because I feel at least partly responsible for raising this issue I should make my feelings clear.
I have no problems with occasional use of foul language in a suitable context. I agree it can be useful occasionally to emphasise a point or help to show the feelings being expressed. However there comes a point where it simply becomes pointless and, especially if directed at one or more individuals, offensive. This is where I try and draw the line.
Personnaly I do swear in everday conversation, but as others have pointed out, you choose your audience for this kind of language (most of the time anyway), refraining from it in certain circumstances. Only an idiot would tell a police officer to **** off when stoppped for a minor traffic offence but wouldn't think twice about swearing at another motorist that had just rear-ended them. However here on dvdrhelp.com we cannot see our audience and it may include younger or more sensitive people that are more easily offended than ourselves.
Although the forum rules do not forbid swearing explicitly, they do say
You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any applicable laws
So to me its all about context and moderation.
Just my thoughts.

I think this thread has run it's course and I think we all agree that in context, not used for flaming, in small doses and not combined with any religious deities that the use of swear words is okay.
Anyway, time to lock this thread before the flame war takes total control.
