I just cannt seem to play these files with any success. Mainly they are either out of sync or the video is in slow motion or they freeze up or they dont play at all. I have probably installed too many codacs trying to fix it now. But anyone got any ideas?

If your only playing video files (not encoding) I would do as suggested above.........then install FFDShow, the xvid RC4 codec (do not associate FFDShow with xvid) and a media player than can decode mpeg2 (VLC/videolan or a DVDplayer). For your audio get the AC3filter.
Question to anyone: Does FFDshow handle the latest xvid codec releases yet? -
How do I get rid of all my codacs?? I mean I can uninstall and delete them but is there a way to wip them oput of there??
