  1. OK, I have a sample of a Verbatim and a Ritek GO4 Printable DVD-R, I was wondering which one produces the best quality prints and if so at what resolution.

Also, the Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are silver tops, are they any good?

Print them both and decide for yourself.
I knew a guy who married a real ugly girl , but he thought she was hot. Go figure .

  3. First and foremost, I'd see which one works best for your particular system (burner, standalone, etc.). I have a few "pretty" dvd's that don't play worth a crap.

I've found that TY and Maxell printables burn with the same quality as their branded brethren. Ridata (printable Ritek G04's) are shakey - seem to have some QC issues. Haven't tried Verb (MCC) printables, but generally speaking, they are of high quality.

  4. The settings that I like the best are:
White Printable - Photo Quality Glossy Film - Best Photo - 0 setting
Silver Printable - Plain Paper - Best Photo - 0 setting
The silver give you a holograph like look that does not work for all labels. As far as the best brand I use Ritek and I have no complaints. As for the silver I just started using Prodisc without any problems. I also let them sit for a day before playing them to allow the ink to dry. Most of the time they are dry well before that time.

The only 2 types I have printed with so far have been Memeorex white top (ricoh) and optodisc white tops. Both look the same, maybe the mem comes out a tad better but overall not that much of a change.
