Because the 'actions of specific individuals' and the 'actions of several' are the same thing, Nelson. You can spin the words around all you want, but 'individuals' and 'several' are interchangable in context.Originally Posted by Nelson37

You wanted people to respond negatively. You claim it was to highlight a concern about the way things 'are' around here.Originally Posted by Nelson37

He won't. He enjoys this type of banter too much.Originally Posted by gitreel

Looks like some some need to step away from the computer to cool down.
Let's be realistic and address some issues here. This is not a legal forum nor a courtroom. I'm surprised how happily some members try to police other ones creating some kind of euforia while stoning some poor soul. God forbid you have a different opinion. They will police you too. They are not site admins, nor moderators, only members that have a 4 digit figure below their nick. You want to be ligit? Report the link and don't participate, close the thread, ignore but don't be more saint then the Pope himself. This forum legality is based on trust, assumptions and acceptance of forum rules. leave the interpretation to the moderators.
That is why we have them. You run like a chicken without a head in the thread that is legit as per poster's admission. That should suffice. After all you don't know whether the knowledge you proliferete will be usedx only for a legit purpose and not criminal. I see his post as nothing more then stating a part of the circumstance that you may have no full knowledge of.
How about this: "How to copy Kill Bill?" or "Help, can't copy Pirates of the Carribean". I've seen no uproar there. Why, cause you assume it is a legit owner of the disk who is posting. How do you know? Assumption again. As I said keep your heads calm and treat all members the same way.
If assumption is what suffices to be ligit then assume the same here. On the other hand looks like some are trying to portrait themselves as better then they really are. St. Michael looks like a shameless sinner comparing to some forum members, who I'm sure will go straight to Heaven. Get real and stop playing police or investigators. No one needs that. Blowing up small issues to bigger then life proportions serves no one, not even you.

I too thought you were smarter than this.If in doubt, Google it.

proxyx99,
That's all fine and dandy, but the specific purpose of nelson's post was to goad people into flaming him. No one is claiming sainthood here (or even in the examples you gave), but merely pointing out that he's an ass.
And rarely (if ever) is the legal question ambiguous and open to interpretation in the bashed posts. It is primarily "I just downloaded Hellboy...", not "I downloaded something and want to convert it..." As I have said before, this is a discussion board, so why not disuss? I you are walking down the street and some guy whips out his wang to wave at you, some people might respond with "Zip it up, you sick bastard!", while others may run straight to the police. Maybe the guy has a medical condition that requires waving his willy, but the simple reality is that a reaction is a reaction. You can't stop it.
