  1. I encoded dv with cce 3 pass vbr marx 8500, avg 8000 and min 2500. when I go to tmpgenc mpeg tools multiplex and put the mpv with its mpa, it shows the mpv at 9800 and audio at the expected 256??? The reason I wanted to multiplex is because I was haveing audio sync and audio looping of 20sec duration throughout a vid when using ulead workshop2. If the mpv is really 9800 than I can see why I'd have problems, going way over the dvd limit.

How do I analyse this accurately?

grab bitrate viewer and scan the file, it could be going over 9800 (but probably not, CCE is quite good with bitrates)

oh, just remembered what it could be, there's an option in CCE "Make DVD compliant" or some such, this writes 9800 as the header even when it isn't that rate - simply uncheck that option and it should report the real bitrate.

  3. Yes, that's correct LD King, but the header info shows then "only"
the max. bitrate, and not the average bitrate.
you have to switch "DVD complian(t)" of otherwise you have to ignore
sometimes the warnings DVDLab gives during authoring.

I like the new feature of CCE Basic, where you can adjust bitrate,
and see how big the video file will become.

    yodel.
    Thanks,

yodel does CCE Basic not have an advanced tab? Cause I know that the non-basic versions of CCE let you do what you want in the advanced settings.

  5. Yes, you have an "advanced" button for the video settings, audio also,
I like CCE Basic very much, it's very fast also, and now with the new
    upgrade....

I let CCE Basic put the audio in a Wave file, make fade-in en out on the ends, convert it to AC3 with Besweet. author it with DVDLab.....
    Thanks,

    Yodel

Sorry, I misread your post. I thought you said you would like a new feature in CCE Lite to determine output size. This confused me because, as you said, the feature is already there.
