I think that the problem may be a dirty/scratched disc. 99.999999% of the time, if I got errors with any (usually all) rippers, it was due to a scratch or a tiny piece of lint

As I've said before, the players on a PC are usually a bit more forgiving than the rippers.

Sounds like you are ripping a a region locked dvd that is the wrong region for you're country. If this is the case there are a coupe options since brute force failed.

1) Install dvd43 then file copy. Warning, when I tried dvd43 with a wrong region disk, I got blue screen of death upon insertion.

2) install anydvd and then rip. (these 2 programs remove the protection and encryption ) at the driver level before dvddecryptor or any other program gets ahold of it

3) try to rip each vob until you get one that works. Check the css key abnd write it down. Then goto options and set it to force to use this key for al files. Once done check to see if they are indeed proper.


4) Goto device manager right click>propertes your dvd drive,>advanced settings> then change the region to one hat matches the movie, then rip, then change the region back. (You can do this procedure precisely twice per DVD-Rom drive, then its locked, for a total of 4 region changes plus the one that it locked into when you first got it)
