Anyone know of a good methode on how to convert NTSC 29.970 fps to PAL 25.000 fps?

I've got no problem converting 23.970 fps or 12.500 fps to 25.000 fps, but I can't seem to find any good solutions when converting framerate from 29.970 to 25.000.....

    Not with VirtualDub nor TMPEGEnc....

I'm always getting a "jumping" or "clipping" picture, if you know what I mean...

Anyone got the solution - or a guide, perhaps?

Have you tried 'Not' converting to PAL and seeing if the NTSC will play.
Most european standalone players can playback NTSC without a problem.

I'm in UK and use to get the judder but since I left framerate conversion alone , no more judder.

    NTSC in NTSC out
    PAL in PAL out

    That is my method now.

Yes - I've done so to....

My problem is that I'm donwloading norwegian subtitles, and they are in 25 fps....

It's easier to convert the movie rather than the subtitles. If not, I'm sure to get a subtitle sync problem... I would have to adjust subtitles with SubtitleWorkshop, and that's a lot of work..

I'am having the same problem here. Converting 29.976 fps to 25. Any luck?

However, on the subtitle re-sync problem you mentioned, I've succesfully used Subtitle Workshop with differently timed subtitles and it worked with a single click.

Suppose the subtitles are timed for 23.976fps and your video is at 25fps. You open the .srt (or whatever) subtitle file, and select the source fps as 23.976 and the final fps as 25. All the subtitles are re-timed at once. Save the file and finish.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
