  2. i dont think there was a real reason to keep her name a secret for the first movie and part of the second.. maybe to get you to go to the 2nd movie..

it was kinda cool though.. i didnt read a review of kill bill vol. 2 because it revealed her name and i didnt want to ruin it. it is kinda a neat name..

i just got my japanese uncut dvd version of kill bill vol. 1.. tis quite awesome..

if anyone is curious whta her name is , just copy and paste the line below in to notepad.. it should be fairly unreadable to the vast majority of people.

    beatrix kiddo

  4. extended scenes, full color fight scene vs the crazy 88's, you get to see sophie get her other arm cut off and other stuff.. its pretty frickin' shweet. i'm working on editing the english subs so that they're forced & only appear during the spoken japanese parts.

  6. well, we'll see about that.. this is an anime prequel in "talks".. that would be kinda cool. the animatrix was better than both shitty matrix reloaded and shitty matrix revolutions..

kill bill vol. 3 would be kinda cool in 10-15 years.. with nicky coming after the bride and her daughter or something of that sort.

  7. Just saw Vol 1 last night, the only thing that left me wondering, is why her and her family were attacked/killed to begin with.... Hopefully will find out this weekend in Vol 2

  10. Sweet !!! I knew I was gonna love Vol 1 as soon as I saw the ShawScope intro when the movie started.

And was cool to see Gordon Liu in a modern day movie. Can't count how many times I have seen the Master Killer....

I kinda have a theory about that. It goes like this.

1st part (lets remember its parts of a whole, it wasn't originally planned as two movies) the main character is not really so much a character as an archtype, very little is done to humanize the "The Bride" its very violet (the whole movie is) and has alot of the over the top blood spraying (notice its gone frm the second half?)

The 2nd part of the movie is about the chracters as much as the action, you begin to understand who they are and why they are doing what they are doing beyond just a general escuse to have them kill bunches of people, its still over the top violent, but the general attitude of it has changed, the gysers of blood are gone ect ect. Even the dialog in the 2nd part is better.

1st part: Archtype revenge style movie
2nd part: About the characters, they are humanized somewhat.

Now I'm not saying its the only reason but I think thats part of the reason they didn't want you to know the characters name.

You make a good point. Volume II clearly had much more depth as far as character development. They were much more fleshed out and less cartoon-y.

Interesting, having the fight scene in black and white somewhat spoiled it for me. Watching fountains of blood squirting in grey does not quite have the same effect. Did not really understand the decision to do this.

It was the only way to get the scene approved by the MPAA and still get an R rating.

I was thinking more along the lines of an online shop, Tokyo's a bit to far to travel for a few coloured scenes in a DVD I already own. I suppose I could always see if Ted Turner can help me out . .
