  1. Hello. I have a problem that's really bugging me now. It seems that the ability to select AUX as a source for recording audio (in the volume control options) is no longer available. I have a WinFast TV2000 Expert capture card and what to capture some video. I can hear the sound while watching and capturing the video, however, when I play back the video the sound is not there.

I have a Philips SonicEdge 5.1 sound card with the latest drivers and I just reinstalled them as well. When I go to the mixer, then the "Recording" section (using Sound Agent 2), it only shows "Stereo Mix", "Microphone", and "Wave Out Mix" as the sources I'm able to record from.

Now I used to be able to record from the AUX, as well as CDIN, but for some reason they are not there anymore. The only thing I've changed since it stopped working is that I added a new motherboard, which is a Gigabyte 7VT600-L. I think the builtin audio on the mohterboard may be conflicting or something. However, I've disabled it via the BIOS and the problem still persists.

I did reinstall my sound drivers. However, I did this before disabling my onboard sound chip (on the motherboard). I guess I'll try reinstalling my drivers now that the onboard device is disabled.

If anyone as any other suggestions as to how I can fix this problem, it would be highly appreciated. Thanks.

  2. No one has a solution? Hmm. I guess everyone is as stumped as I am. I tried reinstalling the drivers again. First I remove the audio device completely via the device manager and then installed the drivers. However, I still can't use AUX or CDIN as a recording source. I have no idea what to do now.

  3. Well, I've seemed to fix it. All I did was choose my onbaord sound device as the default recording device via the control panel. I still have the default playing device as my good sound card though.

To access aux go to control panel/sound and audio devices and choose your good audio card and go to audio/sound recording/volume and click on options/properties and check the aux box.
