hey guys, i was wondering what you use to protect your computer from viruses etc.
also firewall protection
i have been using Norton Internet Security 2004, and have no problems. however when other members of my family use the computer it constantly seems to be infected with adware, spyware, and even viruses which are loading files or doing other funny things. i dont think norton is stopping everything and i constantly update it.
i heard zone alarm is good, but it doesnt scan viruses?
so what do u guys reccomend

I use AVG Anti-Virus and Sygate Personal Firewall for continuous protection, and Internet Eraser Pro for cleaning up after myself.

For spyware and adware, Spybot works well. Make sure you update it. Norton misses spyware and adware. (At least for me. OK on virus, though)

Like indolikaa I use AVG from Grisoft. Works great and it's FREE. No yearly subscriptions, automatic and frequent upgrades. What more could you ask for.
SpyBot is another freeware gem. Consistently gets high marks from reviewers (Much higher marks than SpySweeper and AdAware).
Don't use a firewall because I'm behind a fairly good router (Netgear with Stateful Packet Inspection) with no open ports. -
used to use mcafee, but got rid of it. used too much system resources.
