  1. I really need help with this one. Everytime I try to burn a dvd this error occurs. I can still burn cd's fine, I just have problems with dvds. I have used shrink dvd to rip the dvd's and then I get the error when it tries to burn it onto the dvd. I tried using nero 5.5.10.56 and this also didn't work. I cannot even burn data onto the dvd's without the error occuring. I have searched all over the net and many people have had the same problems but no-one seems to be able to help people with it. Can someone please help me. Here is the log file of the error

  2. Sounds like a collision of ASPI layers.

    Something you could try is the rename "Wnaspi32.dll" file in your system directory to "Wnaspi32.dll.BAK", and then copy the Nero file; "Wnaspi32.dll" from the Nero directory to system directory. Then reboot.

    If it doesn't work its easy to change back.

    This only works with Win2k & XP, but has the advantage of updating ASPI for any CD-burning software to include USB support.

    I'm currently using Adaptec ASPI v4.72 / Nero (wnaspi32.dll) v2.0.1.59, and have no problems with any ASPI accessing software.
    (Exact Audio Copy, CDex, Nero 5.5, CDRWin, burnatonce, Xduplicator, SmartRipper, DVD-Decrypter, IsoBuster, etc)

  3. Thanx for the tip, but once again no success. Just produces the same error, I have also tried to use copytodvd, but it still produces an error, any more ideas anyone?

  4. Have you noticed any other strange problems with ASPI in the past?

    I personally don't trust Adaptec ASPI 4.6 (1021) on anything other than Win95, Win98, or WinN4. Consider vers 4.72, and possibly the "Exclude Miniports" fix.

    Last thing, I just did a quick check on Google, and noticed 3 things in common with most of the posts.

    #1. Nero
    #2. PXHELP20.SYS (Prassi/Veritas driver for win 2K)
    (I think this is a Windows driver supplied by Veritas)
    #3. The phrase "I have a problem"

    even found similar post;
    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/t171966.html

    Another page shows this as a possible fix;
    (I'm on Win2k, and this is WinXP service)
    ------------------------------------------------
    The way I fixed it was the following:

    In the RUN dialogue box type: services.msc

    Scroll to the IMAPI CD-Burning service. Right-Click & select PROPERTIES and then on the General Tab, select disable in the Startup type.

    Once this is done Nero started burning like normal.
    ------------------------------------------------

    What other burning software do you have on your system?

    Are there updates available for your other software? For Windows?
