what is it thats stops recorded dvds from playing on dvd players that lets say dont support dvd-r discs, i recently tried one on an old dvd player, and just wanted to know what is it that really stops it from working. i s it just the formatting of the disc, and is there some way i can change that if it doesn't support the format.....holla back

It's the format and no, I don't think there's a way you can hack a player into reading a different format. Unless there have been some serious ubergeeks working on it that I don't know about

it's just WHAT format it was "implemented" to read, nothing else.
I have a Panasonic, who can read only -R, not even -RW, and I did bitsetting on +R and +RW, and it can read both, no problem.
It's just the memory who is set on something.....if it reads -R fine, if not...buy another one....right???
just to make more money.....
