Well inorder to put an avi file on a DVD it needs to be converted to an mpeg2 file. I would recommend TMPGEnc. It has a conversion wizard that will help you with the process. Theres a trial for TMPGEnc in the tools section on the menu on the left. There are a bunch of other programs that will do this conversion but IMO TMPGEnc is the best and easiest choice. There are also a bunch of guides that can help you if you need some more help. You'll also need a DVD authoring program. I like using Nero. It is fairly simple and a good guide can be found at http://www.digitalfaq.com. Good luck!

    No.

Most of us think you should go spend the 3 hours need to read through the guides and uderstand the concepts involved. That's because you won't understand the answer (which has at least 6 steps if it's a generic downloaded AVI).

You need to post a specific question.

Gazorgan has a point. You should read the guides but if you don't wanna read the guides, Pinnacle 9 might do what you wanna do. But Pinnacle is very picky about what files are imported into it. Pinnacle is great to work with if you use DV but other than that it is a pain to work with. Personally I use Vegas Video 4.0 but that is way out of your league if you're just starting out. You could try using the trial version of Pinnacle to see if it will do what you want it to (if there is a trial.) Hope this helps...
