  1. I was wondering, I have tried a little video editing and capture straight to mpg1 and mpg2, but never have I tried to capture to avi (also called raw correct?). Do avi capturing have settings for size, video bitrate, audio bitrate and such just like mpg does?
Also, about how much size does a good quality avi with cd quality audio take up anyway? Would 1GB of space hold 10 minutes of video? or is it less?
Lastly, what is the limitation on file size Ive heard about, but never ran into? Is it an operating system thing? Or is it fat table thing? A quick explanation would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks alot everyone.

  2. don't trust everything i say 'cause i'm really a newbie, but i try to tell you what i understood until now.
with uncompressed avi you can't decide video bitrate, but you can set resolution and audio bitrate.
1gb for a 10 min. 352x288 capture is not enough, even if you use the lossless huffyuv codec (look in the tools menu), that reduces the captured file size.
the capturing limitation should be 4gb max, but if you work on a ntfs it shouldn't exist anymore.
hope somebody else will explain things better than me!
