  1. Ok I finally managed to do my first successful rip and burn. I used dvd decoder to originally rip, then dvd shrink to shrink the file and then nero to burn. The burn was completed successfully with no errors however, the dvd will not play on my ps2. The media i use is dvd -r. When I insert the disk into the ps2 it tells me to insert a ps2 or sony compatible disk i think (the screen goes to a red graphic). another thing is when I play the copy using power dvd on my pc I cannot use the dvd menu's. When I click menu on power dvd toolbar it brings up the contents of the dvd ie. all the files it contains and asks which ones I want to add to the playlist to view. So the menu structure isnt working on the dvd, it almost seems as if it has burnt simply a collection of files to dvd?? I am not too sure. How can I get it to function as a normal dvd??

PS. I set dvd shrink to shrink to default 4300Mb

    Thanks

I may be wrong, but I think I read somewhere that the PS2 will not play dvdr's. Sorry.

  3. Well my ps2 has played copied dvd's before made by someone else so I assumed they do.. Just annoying these problems, hopefully easy to iron out........

My PS2 is perfectly happy to play any disc I created.
Isuggest get the latest version of shrink if you haven't already. I think its 3.16 or maybe 3.17 can't remember . You can set it to use nero to burn so in effect it is a one step process.
Try just a movie only rip and see what happens .
I don't think you can have full working menus as such with shrink.

  5. Your PS2 should be able to play dvdr's just fine. Is this happening with multiple back ups that you have made or just one? If this is just happening with one movie it could be a bad burn or crappy media that you used. I use inexpensive media and it normally will work on my PS2 however I tend to use a stand alone dvd player as to not wear out my PS2 watching movies. Also, if you have a modded PS2 you will need to disable the chip before it will play movies.

WHy don't you rip/shrink/burn ( with Nero installed ) directly in one set of continuous steps in DVD Shrink? Works 100% of the time for me
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!
