What program are you using to capture? have you tried using a different program?

before...i used movie maker 2 and that was the first time it acted strange....so i installed pinnacle 7 hoping that it will behave differently..but unfortunately, it did not.... what do you think is the problem?

Thats really weird
are you up to date on the xp updates and drivers? do you unplug the camera after you have finished capturing, if not try it.

I did that before....and i have all the xp updates, but its still the same. Sometimes my pc seems to slow down.

hmmm, I really dont know what else to say, usually its just a program issue, but you have tried different programs. My guess would be that you have a problem with windo$ . Your computer running slow usually happens when there a programs runnning in the background. Run a virus & ad/spyware, maybe you're infected.

SWEAT, can you do a ctrl-alt-del and check your process list. Sort it by CPU usage and see if you have a renegade process that isn't closing. Does the camera plug into a USB, Firewire, serial port, or capture card. It sounds like you capture program isn't wrapping this up completely when it closes. I assume when you reboot everything is OK again. Is that right.

Actually, i have to restore the system in order to make it work normal again...booting doesnt do the trick, my videocam is connected to a firewire....its funny coz it works perfectly in other firewire based hardware, except on my videocam.
