No longer how to get a good result from a 5 gig convert to 1, 2, even 3 CD-Rs, and get them to play on a DVD standalone.

Now, seems more like just a media brand bashing site. "All I use is TY", "All I use is Fuji, but only Fuji Japan".

Noone seems to have a problem that anyone has any answewrs to. They have all been answered, "Try a search", go away, noobie!!!"

Computers seems to be the only place anyone has a problem with which anyone can help. Only because 'puter probs can be unique, to you, but they have, most likely been dealt with by another member in the past.

Hey, if you don't want to help, just bitch about all the noobs, just pass on by. Someone will take SOME pity and help.

Bad advice given, or poor ratings of a solid product.

Like "Nero sucks for DVD Burning" or Pinnacle Studio 8 won't work with SP 1 in Windowns XP, things like that cost me time and money when I was starting out.

Both of these comments turned out to be false, and I wasted time and money with workarounds that were unneeded.

I agree that there should not be gross exaggerations such as the ones highlighted by you, perhaps all they need is "it didn't work for me" as opposed to outrageous slander.

Is it fair to say that these were the opinions of the authors and that perhaps new people to the site need to be informed that most information here is in fact opinion normally based on personal experience, and that it should be taken with a grain of salt, and not as gospel ?

Yes its an expression. Means basicly be careful not everything is always true. At least in this case. for example if I said. "Ok now take this with a grain of salt, but I hear they are putting a record store in town" it means Ok well I've heard this but it may not be true.

Interesting that "People who "ignore" the forum rules and want help with their downloaded movies" pisses most off. I somehow get the feeling that under the surface, 50% of all topics would fall under this category. Most are smart/clever/has decensy enough to phrase their question according to rules, but in the end it's still about "how to convert my downloaded screener rip to DVD".

You have to give the benefit of the doubt here. True, we all know that many posts involve illegally-obtained movies, but we can't start second-guessing motives and conducting "drumhead" trials every time a thread mentions suspicious activities.

Baldrick has done everything he can to discourage these sort of posts. It's up to the individual to decide for himself if what he's doing is above-board. We can't force people to do the right thing.

Do you people seriously think there's people here solely for the purpose of renting DVDs from Blockbuster & making copies for themselves?

Firstly: If you like a DVD, you want the original artwork, back'n'front, booklet, etc.

Secondly: Blockbuster sux. They have no "adult" section.

Seriously, I think superficial people like this will not be hanging around forums like this.

I'm here to learn how to put edited camcorder footage onto DVD with menus etc. In other words = "guerilla (gorilla) filmmaking".

I'm also interested in BACKING UP old VHS DUBS onto DVD for ARCHIVAL purposes. For all you Aussies & Pommies, you must realize how important it is. Countdown episodes are lost, just like Doctor Who episodes. If there are people out here archiving shit, the world is saved.
