  1. I downloaded several *vob Files, ripped from a dvd. Some of them wont play anyway. With use of the DVD Patcher Program i found out, that they seem to have no "sequence header".
The Main File is 947 MB big. I tried several DVD Software Players and several Video Programs to read the Properties of the File (Virtual Dub, AviCodec...) but none worked with the File, expect the DVD Patcher, which tells me of the missing sequence header.

Anyone got an Idea if and how to repair this file ?

  2. I assume what you're doing is legal in your country.

Demux the VOBs to elementary streams (you can do this with VobEdit) and if they are OK, author them in a new DVD.

  3. Its a private Video Project, not a commercial DVD.

Opening with VOBEdit works. In the left Coloumn there are all unknown Packs. I am demuxing all Streams right now and will post results. Thanks so far.

  4. Ok, a problem occured. The DVD consists of 3 Main VOB files. 2*0,99GB (named VTS_01_1.VOB, VTS_01_2.VOB and VTS_01_3.VOB) the 3rd is 947 MB and is the one with the problem. When demuxing with settings "demux all video and all audio streams" it demuxes the First File, even if 3rd file is opened. when trying to rename the files, so that 3rd file is the first, it demuxes the renamed 3rd, but all demuxed files are empty, 0 byte big.

  5. You just need to open the first VOB file (VTS_01_1.VOB) and demux. Vobedit will read all sequential VOB files and demux the whole stream.

  6. I see. When i do so, it demuxes the first two and the File which is broken, is beeing ignored.

  9. Try joining the VOBs first. Normally not a good idea but in your case you don't seem to have much of a choice. Also try DVD-Lab. When you import a VOB it gives you the option to demux it.

  10. Tried with DVD Lab. Good Program. It also tells me, that the Headers are missing and tells me to use the "Fix Header Option" in the "tools". Unfortunately this tool only works for mpv and m2p files.

Seems as there is no way of fixing a missing header in a vob file... any further ideas ?
