    Hi there..

    my "WinVDR WMV" lets me down sometimes
    when i capture ..sometimes the movie stutters..
    i know the movie clip source is ok..becus on my tv it plays fine.

    Can u recomend any other video capturing software i could try out.

    i prefer something that allows me to "pause" while capturing.
    also..something that lets me capture to my idea format..(Windows Media 9..268kbps...32kbaudio...30 frames)

    Thanks Guys

    Would it help if i were to get a new USB2-capture card?
    i am thinking of buying a usb2 capture card..rather than my haupagge video card..which use's a traditional video scart & audio wires.

    What settings are you using to capture from within your capture software?
    When you say stutter you mean dropped frames, right?

    video=268kbps
    sound=32kbps
    30 frames.

    recorded in windows media 9 format.

    when i say stutter..i mean NOT like dropped frames..or anything like that...
    i meant well...I record lotta Boxing tapes to my comp..& when mike tyson throws 1 ONE left hook the capture mades it seem like tyson is throwing 5 left hooks..(i hope this example makes clear picture of "stutter").

    The captureing is not smooth and fluent.

    But this only happens few occaisons.../But i just want to eradicate the problem becus it seems to happen with my few best tapes
    (and them tapes are perfect becus they play back well..and on my haupagge win 2000 play fine there too).
    but i hate haupagge...becus i cant set the settings to windows format at 300kbps.

    WIN-VDR is the best for me.

    if you capture with a less-compressing codec using the same equipement and source?

    it sounds like you are trying to capture and compress simultaneously, and that might be causing the problem. try capturing to an avi using the Huffy or MJPEG codecs, and see if the captured files still stutter. if they don't, you can reencode using whatever codec you'd like from the good capture.
