  1. Hey guys, im new to this site so i just wanna say hey, but i also have this problem when encoding my avi files (downloaded) to dvd format. Here's the info:
-I can play the movies fine without any problems in media player and other players as well. (no errors or anything)
-When i go to encode the avis to dvd format (they're dvdrips by the way) i first extract the audio with virtualdub, then i make a direct stream copy without any audio with virtualdub again. Heres the problem:
-When i open the avi with virtualdub the first frame has a big warining that i've never seen before on it. It says "Warning: Nothing to Output, B frame Decoder Lag" (this warning does not show up when i play the avis in media player or anything else, just in virtualdub, but after i've streamed the avi without any audio the new avi has that warning as the first frame.
-After that i encoded the avi to dvd format (dvd ntsc, CBR 4800, no audio, ES video-only, fps 23.97-29.97 pulldown, 3:2 pulldown when playback)
-Heres the big problem: The audio is 1:58:32 secs and the resulting encoded avi is only 1:58:24 secs! That's 8 secs of out-of-sync audio!
-When i burn the dvd it works but the audio gets really bad and out of sync as the dvd goes on.
-I've already raised the drect show priority and i think i'm at the end of my rope unless someone can help me out! someone also said to do frameserving and use trim(1,0), What does this mean! I really need some guidance, any help willl do.
    Thnx

  2. Better read the forum rules again.

As for the error, virtualdub opens the video using a vfw (video for windows) interface. Media players use microsoft directshow for opening. Perhaps directshow is not showing the error but vfw is. Personally I would not worry about it, it's only 1 frame.
