Hello again. I'm trying to edit mpeg2 footage in Premiere but it plays very badly, jerky etc.

Are there some settings I need to change?

mpg2 is not a good format for editing. you will run into problems. what is the footage you are trying to edit? was it originally a dv avi file from your camcorder? if it was, keep it as an avi file, avi's are much easier to edit in premiere. also, please describe your problem more. is is always jerky? or just when you try to preview effects?

The footage is recorded in mpeg2. It's always jerky in Premiere.

is the video jerky before you edit it? like if you play it in media player? if so, then the video file itself is damaged, and im afraid your screwed then. if it only happens in premiere, try editing the footage, and then exporting it. sometimes premiere acts wierd until you export the whole file. btw, what version of premiere are you using?
