  1. I wonder if aspect ratio conflicts (in playing dvd's on pc) might be caused by hardware problems. Till this moment I didn't find any software solution in efforts to obtain a complete image on videoscreen. I tried different software with every time the same problem: surroundings of the images are missing. Confusing is that no error messages occurred.
Can anyone bring some light in this annoying stuff?

    Tnx,

Errr........ we arent mind readers..........what exactly do you mean? Can you explain the problem using some detail?

What does 'surroundings of the image are missing' mean? Is that borders like black bars, or, is the picture being cropped to display a wide format DVD on a normal format 4:3 monitor........is it happening at the sides or top and bottom ?

  3. Thanks for responding. Like you said it is 'the picture being cropped' resulting in a wide format DVD display. For this reason subtitels are partly missing. It doesn't make any difference using full screen or a small size display. The ratio remains the same.

I thought it maybe should be caused by the dvd-recorder, but that's not the isue. Downloaded images give the same problem. I tried several dvd-playing software, all with the same result. But there was just one exception after deïnstalling Ulead DVD-Player (the latest try). After deïnstallation I finally saw a complete image in PowerDVD. But after a restart I had the old problem.

More concrete: some functionality in PowerDVD (and others) is missing. CLPV, Pan & Scan and Digital Zoom remain inactive and grey.
