  1. I am pretty new to the boards and actually have about a year of experience encoding movies from my own house on my own computer. So, for the most part, I know what and what not to do when making VCDS, XVCDS, etc. But, it just occured to me a couple of days ago that I have never given any thought to enhancing my audio experience with my video cds. I was wondering if it is possible to take an already ripped DVD ( in this case a Divx file of "What Lies Beneath" ) and somewhat enhancing it to get the full theater experience from my living room, which by the way consists of a Sony Surround Sound system with two subwoofers, two front speakers, and two rear speakers.

I do not have much experience enhancing audio so that is why I am asking: Is it possible in the first place? And what do I need to do?

I want my final product to sound as close to a movie theater as possible using my home surround sound system.

Or, does it all depend on the surround sound system and not the encoded movie? Or both?

    Thanks for any responses!

  2. Although some will give you all story of the fame multichannel mpeg2 audio for SVCD, dont fall for it, it is something works in theory, but the probability of finding an multichannel mpeg2 encoder app, DVD player that will output multichannel mpeg2, a receiver that will decode a multichannel mpeg2, are slim to none...save yourself the headache an settle for DPL....
Dolby Pro Logic is the best you can hope for when it comes to VCDs/SVCDs

  3. KDiddy is right. The only way you can get better is if you rip the AC3 track with the movie when ripping from the dvd.

  4. Hi.

I read and downloaded a package which can "mutiplex" 6 different audio sound files for "Main Left", Main Right", "Center", "Rear Left" "Rear SIde" and "P. SubWoffer"
It also meant that you must HAD that 6 files (of course) as materials for the package. Toooooo complicated.

I only had a simple question about Audio, Nobody answered me yet:

How can I encode 2 different audio tracks in a (S)VCD, say 1 English track, and one French tracks. When play back I can use the remote of DVD to TURN OFF either of these tracks.

    How can I do that?

    Thanks
