You can author VCD compliant mpegs as DVD using TMPGEnc DVD Author (the audio has to be upsampled to 48 kHz, but TDA takes care of that) giving you almost 440 minutes of VCD quality DVD.

how come the quality seems to be not as good after i converted it to .vob with TDA?????? nwo im watching it on my dvd player it doesn't seem as good as it did when i burned it on CD-Rs

Beats me. TDA shouldn't (and doesn't, AFAIK) touch the video part of the VCD mpg at all, and so should look exactly the same as when authored as VCD.
