    Ok, this is what i am trying to do.

    I have a RS/6000 without the serial terminal. I would like to hook up a serial null modem cable between my home computer and the RS/6000 so that i can install linux onto it.

    I am going to need a program that can emulate a terminal and be able to send comands to the RS/6000. I think it needs to be VT220 emulation.

    Any help or tips or points in the right direction would be appreciated

    hyperterminal (comes with windows) can do this but securecrt (not free) is better http://www.vandyke.com/products/securecrt/
