  1. could anyone tell me if there's a maximum file size that tmpgenc will output if say three mpegs are joined together? i've tried to join together all three terminator movies in vcd format and burn to dvd as dvd data but the process always misses out film2 and mediaplayer only plays film one. if i go to explore the finished file it says that its 2.5gigs big yet it only plays film 1 on my dvd player

  6. well it doesnt work too well, if you get a little spare time, try it with any 3 megs. join together in mpeg tools within tmpgenc and see what happens

i wouldnt bother doing it that way .. i would just make each movie a seperate chapter or title ..

whats the point of combining them ...

  8. i can put each movie onto the dvd-r in its own right thats not a problem its just that i thought it'd be kinda neat if i could do away with the beginning/end titles and make one complete "huge" mpeg file. its kinda annoying and becoming a bit of a challenge now.setting the start/end points isnt a problem its when i do this with all 3 and then join them together that i get a load of grief. ive done it in the past with 2 files with no probs. it seems as if 2 files is the limit with tmpgenc or a specific "final" file size.

Then I would suggest cutting out the parts you don't want, like end credits and then doing as BJ_M stated and simply keeping them separate and author them to play one after the other. Depending on your authoring software, the jump should be seamless, just like it were one big track.

If you still want to join them then try just joining the first two clips, then re-import that one and join it with the 3rd. Joining mpgs, especially when cutting out sections in the process, is a nasty thing. At the very least you usually get sync problems.
