  1. I downloaded a large media file. I used Flashget.
When the file was complete, the download section of Flashget, stated that it
downloaded a total of 717,172KB which sounds about right.
When I went to my download directory here is what I saw:
Name of the file...Visite 0 KB VISITE File
What happened to the 717,172 Kb File????
Plus what is a VISITE File?

    Here is problem number 2

I downloaded a large media file that had Split Files

All looked Fine when I checked my download directory. I used "hjsplit" to join all of the files. Once they were all joined into one file :Name of file with no extension (size)682,969 KB
I tried all of the media extensions: .avi , .mpg etc.
when I renamed the file using the different extensions, here is what happened:
None of the programs associated with the media files, could read the file, it just
gave me a notice of "unknown file"
    So what gives??????

I sure would appreciate it if someone could shed some light on these two problems.
    Thanks

You may want to get rid of the "(reworded..." part of the title. It sounds like "I'm talking about warez, but so I don't get busted, I've edited my post so it doesn't look that way."

    problem 1,
search your PC for any files over 700megs, should be one there you don't recognise.

    problem 2,
read the guides and download some tools.

    Point 1,
If you bought your video files instead of downloading them you wouldn't have any trouble.

Never heard of a 'Visite' file. Probably a propriatory system for downloading. I have ran into some like that, that needed a special player to play or another program to convert. Go back to the source and search on your download software (Like KaZZa or the like). Second problem, may be similar. Stick it into AVIcodec, GSpot and see if you can get any info.
