  1. Hi, I have my videos on video tape (PAL I think). I would like however like to send the videos to my pals over the internet. How do I get these videos into a computer and how do I go through the conversion process? And is there a way I can record my clips from TV (this is what I do) straight into digital format or computer ready format without having to use a VCR? I reall need help Thanx.

what you want to do is called "capturing" video. if you take a look to the left of your screen, you'll see a set of green highlights that say "How To"... click on "How To: Capture" and take a look.

you will need some sort of capture device, a large amount of hard disc space, and a capturing program. me personally, I use an Aver EZ DVDMaker capture card, iuVCR for software, and I usually have at least 60Gb of space available on my hard drive.

Under the "Other" section at left, you'll see an entry for "Capture Cards" and another for "Tools". These areas supply reviews and info for capture devices and software, respectively.

Once you've captured your video, you'll want to convert it to a format that you can send easily, but that can wait until you grasp the concepts for capturing.

take a look at the guides, and when you understand some of the basics, come back with some specific questions.

It's always funny how people try to put HUGE and BOLD in their topic (which luckily fails) as if it's the most important thing on the forum.

Start with some guides. It'll get you started.
