  1. Hi everyone
I finally could capture a whole 60 minutes concert, and now I want to encode the 10 avi files as one single mpeg. How do I do that with TMPGEnc? Please help!
    Thanks so much

  3. Ok... here some light....
Should I encode each 2 GB avi file to mpg, and then merge all the resulting mpgs into one mpg?

    marianovalverde,

Well, you could do it this way:
(give or take my memory. . . see below)

    one GOOD way:
    -----------------
    1 - reNUMBER your avi's, ie, 01.avi/02.avi/03.avi/04.avi, etc.
2 - start Virtual Dub and open (or grag first avi file into it, ie., 01.AVI)
3 - now, go to menu (file/Append AVI) and select 02.AVI, and then
on buttom, put check [x] Apend segmes ...this will add each AVI file
into VD in the proper order, hence the 01.avi/02.avi/03.avi, etc. Zero's
are good, cause if you have more than 10 clips to append, the sort
(there's a bug) will not put into proper segmented order. As a habbit,
I always start my series with "0"'s .
3a - apply your filters (if you know how to use,... guess you don't)
Maybe, you'll learn at a later date. Not for me to teach you that
4 - go to (file/frameserve), then (give name, I use, D:\01.VDR) then click OK
    NOW. . . . . .
6 - start up TMPGEnc, in down below under Video button area/box
enter, ie., D:\01.VDR . . .audio should "auto" fill in by itself.
7 - Click on LOAD button, and select template (VCD or SVCD ie)
8 - at top, click on ENCODE button (or START button) and wait 5, 10, 15, 20+
hours, depending on your system and filters used, if any.

One thing to note, ...you may encounter an audio synch issue when you
encode large clips in one gulp! I break my encodes into segments (clips)
so I never have audio synch problems. The above method is a complete
encode project - all you .AVI clips will be merged or encoded into one
    large file.

Well, the above is one method, others here may have others or
additions / alterations to mine - IT'S A STARTING GROUND.

  5. Hey Vhelp Thanks soooooooooooooo much for your help=
You see, if I have an audio synch by doing this, I'll take care about it when this is done, cause I NEED to have the whole 60 minutes in one single mpeg file, as it is a concert, and want to burn it on vcd format like that. Don't want interrupts between the songs. I've been reading here I can create "marks" or "chapters" on one single mpeg, and then access to each song like on a dvd, and this way seems to be the only one available to have the whole concert to play smoothly.
Well any other help will be welcome))))))))
    Thanks so much Vhelp

  6. I worked!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for your help)))))))
Well TMPGEnc is encoding right now. It'lll take 5 hours to encode 20 GBs (60 minutes). I hoep the resulting MPEG has no "strange" sounds in between the avi files. I'll let you know Thanks again)))))))
