  1. The following information was passed to me. I am not aware of the product. Does anyone have more information on this product?

MUSIC STUDIOS worried about illegal copying of their videos are being given hope by the development of software to halt illegal DVD copying software.

That's according to a report in today's Nihon Keizai Shimbun, which claims that Visionware has created the program.

The report said that Visionware looked at 30 copying programs which use an unlock key to allow copying, and has hit on a method to stop these from working.

While it won't work on DVDs with encryption methods which have already been broken, Visionware said it would be easy to add the tech, and upgrades to it, when and as required.

The crack will probably be available months before they implement it. If it can be engineered, it can be de-engineered.

Isn't that every DVD on the market as of today? That is still a lot of movies to choose from to copy, assuming this thing does work.

That probably would have taken at elast an extra 24 hours to crack. I just find it amusing that usually the workaround for a security measure hits the market before the security measure does.
