    I am looking for some cheap options as far as a digital video recorder.
    I don't need commercial skip or anything like that, I am simply looking for a digital video recorder that works like a VCR but with no tapes.
    Are there any Non-Subscription based recorders that let you do just this?

    if you have a capture card, you can use your computer as a dvr. check the capture card list on the left for your options
