help with encoding divx to dvd

i hav a divx movie clip .......that causes my tmpgenc to freeze as soon as it starts at the 3 second mark ........the clip plays in media player 9 and also plays in tmpgenc preview play ..........i have done many other clips with tmpgenc .....i have adjusted the direct show media file reader (this usually works gr8 )......even in the source range it freezes at the 3 second mark .......i have k lite codecs installed...........................i run it through virtualdub (not that i no alot about virtual dub ) .....any 1 have any ideas ...........

You said you ran it through virtualdub, did you check for bad frames ?
