go to start/control panel/ then click on system, and go to hardware tab, then device manager, look under cd-roms should show the make of your drive, it does on mine anyway
......... -
Ah you're right, its an Artec WRR-4848
How would I go about getting the latest driver? -
Louise01 you could do a search on Google for drivers for your drive, but don't really get your hopes up on finding any.
The drive itself should already be supported on your system and you will probably only need the lastest version Aspi Layer installed on your system to make it more compatible with the Burning Software that your gonna use.
Again do a search for that on Google or your could go here.....
www.adaptec.com
and use the search option at the top to look for Aspi LayerI Have Always Been Here

I used that ASPi checker thing and it says
Component APIX.VXD version 4
WNASPI32.DLL Version 1 , is that any use? :/ -

Louise01,
I didnt see what type of computer you have.
What you really need to do is upgrade to Windows XP Home or Professional. Windows ME will be next to impossible to find things for. -
i suggest windows xp too
it detects and installs the driver automatically for every cdrw and dvd drive i have ever encountered
