DVD won't play in DVD standalone but will in PC

I have burned several DVD's successfully using decrypter, shrink and NERO, all the most recent versions. I am using a plextor 708A burner, and ritek G04 DVD-R's. My standalone is a magnavox mv450.

Some of my burns are fine and play ok in both my standalone and pc however some will only play in my pc. I've copied both DVD 5's and 9's in the past without a problem so can't figure out why all of a sudden I'm having problems. I haven't changed my media or any software. One thing I have noticed about the burns that turn out "bad" is when I turn over the DVD and look at the side that burns, it appears that the burn started later in the DVD's that won't play on my standalone. If this is the problem, what could be causing it? I'm perplexed.

Some people have reported recent problems with RitekG04 media. I use it and have not experienced any problems but I have read posts where others have.

Odd that it would have just started all of a sudden though.
