  1. Not sure where this question goes.

But I am trying to make a backup of the dvd Halloween movie, using DVDXcopy and DVDXcopy Express. I tried both.

When the progress bar gets complete I get a message "error reading DVD sector".

The DVD plays fine in my DVD player and on my computer DVD player.

Does this mean it is copy protected which is preventing me from making a backup?

    Thanks

  2. I had used DVDXcopy an never really cared for it because of that reason... And the fact I would have a "THIS IS A BACKUP" message.

Dude, try DVDShrink it's free and I have never had a problem yet using it. If you have Nero it will automatically burn it for you too....

try ripping with dvd decrypter first, and then use dvdshrink. they are both free and much better than dvdxcopy

  4. Thanks people..

Seems DVDShrink may be the way to go.

I have used DVD Xcopy Express in the past with no problems.

    Guess times are changing..

I will give DVDShrink a try..

    Again,
    Thanks

  5. Well, no luck..

It still will not copy one file..same error message.

But like I said..the DVD plays fine.

Ideas? Or is this a copy protection thing?

make sure the disc is clean. Playing is a little more forgiving than ripping.
