Here's what I'd like to do:

Connect a DV cam to a pc/laptop via a firewire cable and display the recorded footage on a monitor with a time delay of about 10 seconds (variable if possible).

My thinking is that the computer would only have to store say a minutes worth of footage (as a buffer) in order to play it back with a short delay.

Is this possible and if so, is there software available to do it?

    Many thanks,

    Dave

There must be a way to do it with software. If you can capture footage from the cam in real time then surely you can get the pc/laptop to play it back ten seconds later(??)

I think Avid Xpress Pro has that feature. You might want to check that out.
