It is not a file extension.

What you have is a .avi

You have made 107 posts and you ask how to make a VCD from an AVI ?
Please tell me this is a wind-up.

Edited after reading Moloko_Plus's post , my original post is quoted in his.

Of course, I know how to do AVI to VCD but this was something different as I can't even view this type of AVI (neither with DIVX Player or WM player), and encoding doesn't work with tmpgenc also, so I thought I better ask for some help.

Still, I didn't get my answer as to HOW TO VIEW THIS TYPE OF AVI FILE?

ask the people that made it since you don't seem to want to use g-spot and tell use what type of avi it is ..

  5. There are many codecs which could have been used to create the AVI file.
That is what you need to find out. Use Gspot to determine how it was made, then install the required codec.

You are very very, very hopelessly wrong.
TCF (The Chosen Few) is a rather good release group, primarily they do dvd screeners, vhs screeners and a minor percent of telesyncs and workprints. Ive only noticed they've done a very small number of cam versions. The proof being right here: http://www.vcdquality.com/index.php?genre=1&grp=22 TCF does not release AVI either, only svcd/vcd and i think they've done a few dvdrs. There are specific groups who release only divx/xvid, most of them are pretty good, unless they mislabel it, crop it, get the audio/video quality below scene standards, the list goes on...

And, release groups do NOT share on p2p networks. (there was only one that i remember, and i dont want to put much thought into it.. an anonymous person who put the workprint for kill bill 1 up there...They got flamed big time whoever it was..then Opium repacked it as their own as a 2-vcd and got further flamed for it) They share on top sites and in turn the couriers are the ones who share it with other sites, by fxp or whatever the hell their scripting is.. then onto binary newsgroups/irc bots/direct connect (DC borderlines p2p..im talking about the elite DC hubs..that need like 150+ gigs minimum to get in..those are fun and the lamers are kept out) and then eventually lamers come along, reencode it to xvid/divx and share them on peer to peer...Like Krap-za, E-Donkey-Shit, etc.. Dont get me wrong, it usually only takes a few days for someone to make a divx/xvid from a movie, and some of them are quite good. But there are other sites that list whats good for that stuff. Im only speaking from experiance that ive found a LOT of poor quality rips on p2p, those are mostly not done by a reputable group. Ive noticed a big popularity in bittorrent, those are usually just right after the newsgroups get them, but again its p2p being slow; and dangerous because youre exposed to the MPAA and whoever else is listening in. And its probably becoming harder and harder to find group releases on p2p anyway, so why even bother?

Peer to peer is the Last place anything ends up when it comes to the movie scene, based on the normal flow of things. I think the biggest reason is because of Speed. It gets around faster on top sites and newsgroups then any other place. Theres also other factors like security/mpaa/hackers/trolls/etc. That and p2p is just sooo. damn. lame. It could be weeks or months before something that was just released commercially becomes avalable (!!easily!!) on p2p. To be honest it really doesnt matter how quickly it ends up on p2p, some movies/games/software would make it there quicker by popularity..it could be as little as a day, i dont know. What I do know is its the Last place it will end up in the wierd world of warez. Thats the bottom line, that and release groups do NOT put anything up on p2p.

They all start as clueless when they get broadband.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?
