My CD burner won't burn anything lately. I just formatted my HD, and when I installed Win98, I could only burn at 2x, otherwise the burn would fail. Then when I installed Win2K Professional, I can't burn anything at all. I have a 4x Ricoh MP7040A. I even tried burning at 2x, but that still has a write error in Nero. So what could be the problem, and how can I fix it?
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

Just a thought, but you may want to try to change the order in which the burner is on your IDE cable.. Make it a slave with your harddrive or slave with your other cd drive.
if you are planning on doing CD to CD burns the best thing is to not put them on the same channel.
If your burner just stopped working then it could very well be a bad one..I've had ALOT of luck with the ACER 4x6 you can buy for $99. I do alot of burning and have been using it everyday for the last 2 years! No problems with it at all. good luck
