  1. I used CloneDvd2 to back up this movie and kept all sub languages but ac3 french but can't get the translation to work. You know, when they speak in a diff. language in Chapter 5. How can I get this to work? Thanks.

  5. Kill Bill subtitles in non-english speaking scenes:
activaitng subtitles worked for me also.

    Used DVDDeCryptor + Clonedvd2
Included both english subtitles options offered in Clonedvd2 and if I activate the first one - I get english subtitles in non-english speaking scenes and if I activate the 2nd one I get english subtitles throughout.

When you reauthor in DVD SHRINK you lose menu functions. If you want you can just hit the "BACKUP" button in DVD SHRINK. I used DVD DECRYPTER ripped in file mode then used DVD2ONE chose full disk in the copy mode. Then used NERO to burn. I have the entire movie with menu, subtitle & audio functions. Try using those programs to back up your kill bill vol.1 dvd.

  8. Thanks for the tip. Did just that, "Full Disc" copy with DVD Shrink and got the english subtitles on the scenes of O-Ren Ishii and Hattori Hanzo. What I'm trying to do is to copy only the main movie without the extras, but dvdshrink is leaving the english subtitles out of the movie even when I selected the english audio and subpictures in the compression setting in Re-authoring.

Your welcome. Try using dvd2one and just choose copy movie only.

If you're trying to remove the subtitles where OREN-ISHII & HATTORI HANZO speaking japanese, those can't be removed. It's part of the actual footage of the movie. So the removal of the english subpictures will not help that. Correct me if I'm wrong about that. Is that what you're trying to do?

  10. I want the english translation (subtitle) of O-Ren's and Hattoris' dialogues (in japanese) in their funny scenes. Dvdshrink, unfortunately, is taking the english subtitles out of the scene on "Re-author" copy of the movie. Thanks again for the tips.

They're most definitely not in the footage, considering they don't show up unless you turn on subtitle english 1. I know I wasn't hallucinating when there wasn't any text on the screen
