I'm running Win ME - I had a capture stop at the 4gb mark.
Does IuVCR have a segmented capture file capability similiar to VDub?
I couldn't find an option for it. Am I stuck then as long as I'm running WinME?

Also, under the video tab there's a configure option for the driver device.
Mine was defaulted to 'SECAM-D' This produced an offset in the vertical display. It also affected VDub captures. I'm trying to copy VHS tapes and make DVD backups. So I guess I want to use the 'NTSC' option.

But there are 3 choices: M, M-J, & 433. What wouls be appropriate for my purpose? I also couldn't select a frame rate higher than 25 with '433', and I couldn't select a height res > 480 (was trying to get 488) with M or M-J (it would just reset back to 480) For some reason, using 488 (under '433') gave me a lot of jagged outlines on motion. They mostly disappeared when I used a height res of 480.

    thanks

Duh, I see a segmentation option next to the configure button; I guess selecting a file size will create another file every time that size is reached.

Any info on the 3 NTSC options is appreciated.

NTSC M-J is for Japanese NTSC only

NTSC M is for just about any other NTSC source such as USA and CANADA

I have no idea what 433 is though.

NTSC is 720x480 don't know what possessed you to try a height of 488

    Thanks!
I thought I read here somewhere that 352 x 488 was an acceptable resolution for VHS to DVD transfers - which is why I was trying 488.

Hay, does VirtualVCR have "segmentation" capture ??

I can't seem to find anything on it, and it would be great for my SW projects
since I'm currently test-playing around w/ it in a new cap card I'm testing
out - Winfast TV 2000 XP "Expert".

From my point of view, iuVCR seems to add in "noise" (in the trial version)

    NTSC DVD resolutions are:

    720x480
    704x480
    352x480
    352x240

I use WinXP with NTFS so I have no need for segmentation capture so I'm not sure if it is supported but I use TheFlyDS which I like alot.

It is very similiar to iuVCR but better in my opinion.

After using both VirtualVCR and iuVCR I finally settled on TheFlyDS for my PCI TV tuner type capture card (I have an AverTV Stereo using BTwincap driver).
