    Guys:
When I view files in W Explorer I prefer to have the "View" set to "Details", it stays in that mode in W98, but in WXP on another computer it always defaults to icons.
Is it possible to set it to always show the files in "Details" mode?

And another thing, at one point in time the Windows Explorer on W98 was showing three columns - the folder tree at the l-h side, the folder contents at the r-h side and a space in between, where it would show a preview icon of a highlighted file, plus some basic characteristics of that file.
Then this middle column disappeared and I have no idea how to make it reappear. I looked at the "Folder Options", but could not find anything that would enable this middle column.
    Thx: walter

Set your folder for details, click tools, folder options... view, like current - that should make all folders the same when you open them.
For the missing columns, right click on one of the columns in explorer and you can change what folder options (size, modified, etc) are shown. Do this before you actually do the first part of my reply....
