  1. hi peeps. simple question. I just purchased a pctv tuner card, and want to d.load some music vids on to my pc, question is, lets say mtv for instance, they put their mtv logo on the bottom right hand corner of the picture, i need to know what program is there that allows me to remove that logo from the picture, so that i can have the video how it was made to be, and so i can burn to dvd.
    thanks!!

I don't think it can be done without some major editing work on your part. I think you'd need to edit it frame by frame and put color over the logo to make it invisable.
You could chop the bottom bit off all along the footage but then you'd loose some. Not worth the hassle really.
good luck on this one Tarzan

This message board is here for people to post answers to questions. So let me try to help.

    Try this web site:
    http://republika.pl/voidon/virtualdub/ladocs301/logoaway.html
It has instructions for how to use a VirtualDub filter that will remove logos from video.

    Good luck!

What I don't get is what does the PCTV have to do with you being able to download music videos? Unless you meant record videos.

What software are you using to record? I find that best results are achieved by using PowerVCR with that card.

10 seconds spent with google reveals the following...

    http://neuron2.net/delogo132/delogo.html

If that's too hard for you , you won't be able to use it anyway

Put the file(s) in your virtualdub plugins folder. Start virtualdub, open the video, then go under Video-->Filters and it should be there. Then use the instructions from the site Foo linked to.

Please do a little research. People around here don't mind helping out, but it is when we have to hold other people's hands is when we get irritated.

  14. whats up with everybody here, i mean it seems that everybody is on the rag, no offence, but i usualy do research..( i rather read and learn myself than to ask) and i already tried opening it up in virtaldub under filters before i asked......i found it by the name of logo, at least i assume that was it. my problem however is that, what i opened under filters, did not look like the picture i saw on the link. so i kind of got thrown off, and had to ask, so please i aint trying to make people out there think that i'm trying to take the easy way out, by asking, because i do try to learn on my own, its just that sometimes i do need a little help. i'm trying to learn all these products, and maybee eventualy i will be able to help someone out there also. and by the way homy is another word for friend. and steroids do not make you stupid or even kill you, thats just media bullshit. anything can be bad for you, if you do to much of it. but it will work miracles, if you dont abuse it, and know what your doing before you do it!!!
    thanks everybody for your help
and if someone is kind enough, to let me know why, what i opened under filters, did not look like the picture on the link, then, that would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks again!!!!

When you do Video->Filters->Add in Vdub do you see a
    Delogo 1.3 in there ?
You might have LogoAway or something else in there too .

  16. no, i only see ....logo..... not delogo, then when i click logo (because i was thinking that this was it) i get another screen that asks me for a screen image, which then i have to browse to my folder. just under that, there is a check box that reads.....enable per pixel alpha blending using alpha channel. then there is opacity, justification, x offset, y offset and soforth
    thanks again!!

You need to unzip your DeLogo download into
    c:\Program Files\VirtualDub\plugins
or wherever Vdub is on your machine

You need DeLogo.vdf in that folder

People are getting on your case because you're not telling us what steps you've tried. If we know what you did, we might be able to fill in the blanks. It's not unreasonable for people to get upset when you say that you "already" tried something after someone suggests it.

  19. alright sorry about that. steps i have taken are..........

step 1.....download delogo to my virtual dub plugins folder (including .dsp,
    .dsw, .vdf, ).

step 2......opened virtual dub, opened mpeg file of my choice, opened video, opened filters, clicked add, scrolled down list to find delogo, but only found logo, clicked on logo assuming that this is delogo, which then opens another screen that is not at all what the link looks like. and since i cant get the screen that looks like what the link looks like, i am asking for help.
all i'm trying to do, is open this program up, so that i can get to the screen on the link, then i will be able to follow the instructions on the manual on my own. i just cant seem to find delogo on the filters screen
    just logo.

those are the steps i have taken so far, and once again sorry for the trouble.

maybe now we can get this open

    thanks again

Oh and by the way , the link I provided
immediately produces a ZIP file to download.

I think you should pack your computer in the box it came in and ship it back.

Download and Install PowerArchiver. It's much better than Winzip, and can open just about any compressed file, even RARs.

If you install WinRAR after WinZIP, it brings up all .zip, .rar, .tar, .gz, ... files show as WinRAR files.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.

  29. .i found it by the name of logo, at least i assume that was it.
He didn't find delogo he found logo. That's why it was asking him for a an image file. It is a filter to add a logo not the one that removes it.

bodybuilder, The filter that removes logos is not easy to use and it does not completely remove the logo. It will leave a distortion that might be more distacting than the logo itself.

  30. i understand, thats something that i will expirement with, however i still cant seem to find the delogo, even after following all the steps that were explained to me.
