  1. The pictures were taken with Kodak Software. I'm using Nero to copy the files. I thought that I would spend sometime while waiting for my Pinncale MovieBox Deluxe to get here I would tranfer some pics and use Windows MovieMaker to create a slideshow to use as a screensaver. I assummed it was that easy but obviously not. When I view the contents of the CD after burning I see 5 files listed. CDI, EXT, MPEGAV, SEGMENT and VCD. When I try to transfer these files to a folder I had created in the new comp I'm prompted that 2 of the files are "not compatible to DOS" and the process stops. My dumb question is do I have to convert these picture files to an actual viewable format before putting these files to disk before they can be trans. to the other comp? Excuse me for not using more accurate terminology. Also they are listed as jpg's. Thanks

  2. not sure what you are trying to do, but you created either a vcd or svcd that should play on a standalone dvd player...if you want to view what you did, open up the mpegav folder and the file ave000xx(or whatever) is the movie..you can run that on you computer and your movie will play..

  3. I am trying to copy JPEG's off of my old computer on to my new one. I am going to reformat the old one for my daughter. What I ended up doing this afternoon was, using HP Memories Disk Creator. Software that came with my HP Printer. I noticed that during the process of burning to CD it went through a encoding process. I tried that with Nero but Nero could not open the JPEG files. I was able to install pictures and associated files onto new computer, import just the pictures to MovieMaker and create a slideshow. My question is what is the perfered method of putting Jpegs onto disk because I have a lot more? Using the HP Memories Disk Creator, their were 8 or 9 files shown on the disk along with the pictures file. Thank you.

  4. what you created was a picture show that plays on a standalone dvd player (not all can play them)... the preferred method is just burn them as data files. That way all picture viewers can view and edit pictures. your way allows you to look at them, but most likely not able to edit and copy individual pictures... so whatever cd burnin' program you got (hp usually comes with stomp) select burn as data....

  5. dbecker, Thanks, I will give it a shot. The times I did try with Nero I chose the Video CD option. Have a good weekend.
