I burned a home video MPEG 2 file using MyDVD 4.5.2 and Buslink DVRW812D-BU2F (DVD+&-RW/R drive) onto an imation 4x DVD-R blank. The DVD can only be played on the same computer that was used to burn it. It cannot be recognized by my Pioneer DV-333 player or my Toshiba MD20FN3/R TV/DVD combo. It also cannot be recognized by my friend's go.video player. Also, I tried it on two other computer DVD drives, and neither can find the disk. I noted that the DVD folders on the DVD disk contain 3 hidden mpeg movie files in the Jacket_P folder. I don't know whether this is the reason the players could not read the movie files. Please advise.

No, the Jacket_P folder is not the problem.
It's either the disc or the burner. When you say "I tried it on two other computer DVD drives, and neither can find the disk" do you mean that they couldn't even read them (i.e. browse through the folders with Explorer)? If so, something is wrong with your burner. Try updating the firmware. -
Thanks. I tried a DVD-RW and was successful. So I burned on DVD-R again, and it can be played on set top players now. For some reason, it didn't work the first time.

It could be that the first disk was not finalised correctly, which can prevent it being played in other drives and players. When you tried again, the new one probably did finalise, so no problems.
